Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA)

The Study of Management Accounting is geared towards the provisions and use of accounting information to managers within organization which provide them with bases in making informed business decisions. Management Accounting involves the study of the systems, procedures, and policies used by top management in making decisions about virtually all matters which affect the financial and non-financial performance of the entity. The practice of Management Accounting extends to the following areas: strategic management, performance management, and risk management.

A BSMA graduate is expected to apply his or her professional knowledge and skills in the preparation and presentation of financial reports and other decision oriented information which would assist management in the formulation of policies, and in the planning and control of business operations. BSMA graduates are also qualified to take certification examinations which are recognized internationally and can become Certified Bookkeepers, Registered Cost Accountants, and Certified Accounting Technicians. BSMA graduates are out for a wide selection of job opportunities which are of increased demand both locally and internationally.
