Ang Alamat ng Aking Pangalan

Bawat tao sa mundong ito ay may pangalan. Ang nakatataka lang, bakit nga ba may pangalan ang tao? Ano kaya ang halaga ng pangalan na ibinigay sa atin? Bakit nga ba may pangalan tayo? Saan kaya nanggaling ang pangalan natin? Ito ang mga tanong na pumasok agad sa aking isipan. Bawat isa sa atin may iba't ibang kuwento kung saan nanggaling ang ating pangalan.
Sa isang mapayapang lugar, ang mga tao ay tahimik na namumuhay at hindi nila inaasahan na isang araw may isang anghel na isinilang na ang pangalan ay Catherine at ako ito. Nagtataka ba kayo kung saan nanggaling ang aking pangalan? Ako ay si Catherine Paderes. Alam niyo ba na ang pangalang Catherine ay nanggaling sa isang Santo . Ang Santong ito ay si Saint Catherine of Alexandria kasi isinilang ako sa buwan ng Nobyembre sa petsang 24. Ang araw na ito ay desperas sa Fiesta dito sa Dumaguete City kaya Catherine ang pangalan ko.

Ang aking ina ay si Bebelonia Paslon Paderes. Ang kanyang pangalan daw ay nanggaling sa isang matanyag na lugar na ang pangalan ay Babylonia pero iniba lang daw ang espelling nito. Ang aking ama naman ay si Arnold Nuico Awing. Hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling ang kanyang pangalan dahil malayo siya ngayon dito. Sila ang mga magulang ko pero hindi sila ang nagkatuluyan at ngayon may iba't ibang pamilya at mga anak na sila kaya masasabi ko na isang magulong mundo mayroon ako. Ako ay lumaki sa aking Lola na si Felisa Paslon Paderes. Siya ang nag-alaga sa akin at tumayong ina. Minahal niya ako ng sobrang-sobra, para sa akin, wala ng makahigit pa sa pagmamahal na kanyang ibinigay at ipinamalas sa akin.

Dahil sa aking mga pangarap na makatapos  sa aking pag-aaral, magkaroon ng magandang bukas,makatulong sa kapwa at higit sa lahat upang hindi na makaranas pa sa hirap na aming naranasan ngayon kaya pumunta ako sa aking ina kahit napakahirap ito. Maikukumpara ko ito sa isang apoy na nagliliyab na aking tinatapakan.

Ngayon ay nag-aaral ako sa Foundation University sa Dumaguete City. Kahit malaki na ako, nangarap parin ako na sana maramdaman ko ang tunay na pagmamahal, ang tunay na ligaya at ang pakiramdam na buo ang pamilya kahit alam ko na imposibling mangyari ang pangarap na ito.

Ito ang Alamat ng Aking Pangalan at kahit kailan ipagmalaki, alagaan at mamahalin ko ng buong puso ang pangalang ito.

what is economics?

Economics has been recognized as a special area of study for over a century. Virtually all four-year colleges offer courses in economics and most allow students to major in the subject. Economists maintain high profiles in governments, and they have been well-represented among the highest appointees in the federal government of the United States. The press reports on their doings and sayings, sometimes with praise and admiration, sometimes with ridicule and scorn. Economics and economists are words that almost everyone has heard of and uses. But what exactly is economics? Very few people can give a good definition or description of what this field of study is all about.

Defining economics as "what economists do" does not tell us anything we did not already know. A good definition must explain what it is that makes economics a distinct subject, different from physics or psychology. One should not expect to find a short definition that conveys with absolute clarity all there is to know about economics (or else there would be no reason to spend hours learning about it). Neither should one believe that there is only one correct definition possible. Many good definitions are possible, and each will focus on some important aspect of the subject. To use an analogy, there is not one spot from which one can best view Niagara Falls. Each viewpoint obscures some features and emphasizes others. There are, of course, some spots that are clearly superior to others, but people can disagree about which is the very best spot.
